Apple and Samsung have stopped the epic patent war, lasting more than seven years

Apple and Samsung suddenly stopped their epic patent war, which Steve Jobs unleashed more than seven years ago.

CNN reports that the parties were able to negotiate extrajudicially. The details of the agreement are not disclosed, and both companies do not comment on it.

Recall that in 2011, an American company saw in mobile devices Samsung copying the design of iPhone and iPad smartphones, as well as violation of a number of patents related to hardware and user interface of mobile devices.

In 2012, Apple estimated the damage of more than a billion dollars, but in 2013, reduced the bar to 290 million. In 2015, the amount increased to 548 million, and later - again to a billion. Samsung insisted on a much smaller amount - $ 28 million.

After legal claims, Apple, in turn, filed several counterclaims in several countries, including the US, trying to ban there iPhone sales, which, according to the Korean company, violated its patents. At the same time, Samsung's units (in particular, display) all this time were suppliers of components for Apple gadgets.
